Tropea:Known as ‘The Pearl’ of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tropea is Calabria’s most sophisticated seaside town. Located on the ‘Costa degli Dei’ (Coast of the Gods), it offers amazing beaches with white sand, crystal clear waters and fantastic rock formations. The beautiful old town, perched high on a cliff overlooking the sea dates back to the 16th Century with charming narrow streets, excellent restaurants, small boutiques, bars and charming piazzas with breathtaking views over the Aeolian Islands, particularly (Stromboli). Famous for its authentic and natural beauty as well as for its spectacular sunsets, Tropea is a great holiday choice.Pizzo: Pizzo or Pizzo Calabro, is a former picturesque fisher town in Calabria. Like Tropea, the historic centre is built on a cliff overlooking the sea; In the old town, there is the Castle Murat, known for the imprisonment and execution of Napoleon’s brother in law after he tried to take back his kingdom. Another highlight is the “Chiesetta di Piedigrotta”, a small church built in a cave straight on the beach. Statues, carved into the rocks tell stories of the bible and of the region’s saints. Pizzo is also known for its ice cream, especially the ‘Tartufo’. After a stroll through the corso, the main street of the old town, enjoy this delicious desert made of nut icecream and melted dark chocolate inside.
